Another successful Hooping Event! The 16th Hooping for Cure was held February 20, 2024 at LaSalle High School and featured the Boys & Girls Basketball teams from St. Ignace and Engadine. Close to $36,000 was raised for the No Cancer Patient Left Behind Program which helps our local oncology patients at Mackinac Straits Health System. Since 2009, Hooping has raised over $366,000! Thanks to all those who supported this year’s event. We are so grateful to all our sponsors, donors, volunteers and players who made it possible.

Thanks to all of those who helped support our 21st Jewel at Mackinac Golf Outing in 2023. We are amazed at the dedication of our participants, sponsors, hosts and volunteers. We are so fortunate to have such wonderful support from the Mackinac Island community and all of our guests. We couldn’t have made it without Grand Hotel, Wawashkamo, Carriage Tours, Shepler’s and Mackinac Island Ferry. Proceeds help the Mackinac Straits Health Foundation support the Mackinac Straits Health System, including the Mackinac Island Medical Center. SAVE THE DATE for the 22nd Jewel, August 22, 2024!

Make plans to be part of the “Moie Brown Memorial – Run for the Health of It”, Saturday, August 10, 2024 on our beautiful St. Ignace Campus. This event’s presenting sponsor is First National Bank of St. Ignace. It features a 5-K & 10-K, Run or Walk. Sponsorship opportunities are still available and registrations are now open online. Mackinac Straits Health System and MidMichigan Health Announce Affiliation

St. Ignace, Mich. – Mackinac Straits Health System (MSHS) and MidMichigan Health jointly announced a formal affiliation between the two organizations that will address technology (IT) and Electronic Medical Records (EMR) needs.
